Hi Guys, Bordeaux Inlay is offering a beginner /intermediate inlay class on July 21-22 at my shop in upstate N.Y. Info available by PM or via my web site once my web guru updates it. Class size will be limited to 6, with the possibility of a second class depending on interest level. Hope to see you this summer! Here's a few more basic ukulele inlays. More photos to come... ![]() Here's a gambling themed inlay developed with Buck Owens and Steve Davis. Note the "pole dancer" awaiting a fret to hold onto ![]() ![]() A twist on the standard "tree of life" substituting koa for most of the vine. ![]() |

Michael, No, it's virgin koa ![]() Actually, I had to google this,(Impregnated koa), to find out if it was real. Wow, you OLF'ers are a knowledgeable bunch! The koa used in the inlay was the scrap from the back cut out for the guitar the inlay was installed on. (Say that 5 times fast!) |

Paul, we've got an expert in acrylic impregnation of woods as a sponsor and participant, Larry Davis (Gallery Hardwoods). Some beautiful stuff that I keep being tempted to buy, but haven't quite gotten around to... |

Ahhh.... When I googled the term, the first link was to a Bass forum which had a discussion on it by no other than Larry! That small world thing is happening. |

The reason I asked Paul was I did a vine a while back with raw Koa and it srunk bad on me then I read about Larry's process. I have not tried it yet but plan to soon. |

Thanks Guys, Funny thing is that the builder hated the idea until he saw it complete. He then ordered another. ![]() |
